OZ 7 QGM J3

Honestly it doesn't get much better when it comes to quality builds! The only reason i didnt give it 5 stars is because the heel at the neck joint is pretty blocky and makes the higher fret access kind of hard to reach.
The 22-24 fret range is hard to reach, but other than that, perfect quality! No blemishes and came set up perfect!

I've been playing guitar for nearly 40 years, and in that time I've owned some incredible guitars (and some lousy ones, too). I've had standard and Custom Shop guitars from Fender, Gibson, PRS, ESP, and Taylor, as well as some rare gems like a made-in-Japan Zemaitis. In my experience, some American companies (PRS, Ernie Ball) make exceptional guitars, but all of the Japanese companies do. If there's a bad made-in-Japan guitar out there, I've never played it. That's why I after doing a bit of due diligence I ordered a Vola sight unseen, and I'm happy to report it's exceptional.

I love the metallic copper finish, the Gotoh hardware, the Luminlay fret markers, the roasted maple neck, and the "pinstripe" across the front body bevel due to the thin layer of walnut between the body halves. The finish is impeccable, the craftsmanship is flawless, and it was setup perfectly when it arrived. The stainless frets are mirror-polished.

Their direct sales model allows them to offer exceptional value for a made-in-Japan instrument without cutting any corners. I'm not aware of another Japanese guitar brand at this price point (at least not one available in the US), but the quality meets or exceeds instruments costing twice as much.

My only minor complaint is more of a personal pet peeve: I wish the headstock tilted back at an angle from the neck like a conventional guitar. Fender started this trend with the Broadcaster/Tele, and the success of the Strat cemented it forever. But I still prefer tilted headstocks for both form and function. At least they used a retaining bar instead of hideous string trees.
