MINA

Captain Mina is the visionary force behind FATE GEAR, Japan’s trailblazing all-female steampunk metal band. A skilled guitarist, composer, and storyteller, Mina brings her creative universe to life through high-energy metal anthems wrapped in a rich narrative world. Drawing influence from classical guitar roots and legendary acts like X Japan, Iron Maiden, and Children of Bodom, Mina founded FATE GEAR in 2015 after departing Destrose—one of Japan’s pioneering all-girl metal bands. With Mina at the helm as the “Captain” of an airship and her bandmates as crewmates, FATE GEAR fuses power metal with a unique video game-inspired steampunk aesthetic, setting them apart in both sound and vision.
Mina’s work has reached audiences far beyond Japan. FATE GEAR gained global momentum when their song “Megabullets” was featured in the Netflix anime Kengan Ashura (2019), and Mina continued her crossover success by composing and performing on “Gloria in Purgatory,” the official image song for Why Does Nobody Remember Me in This World? (2024). The band has toured across Europe, Asia, and Canada, earning a loyal following with explosive live shows and fan-favorite tracks like “This Fate,” whose music video has surpassed 600,000 views on YouTube. As the constant anchor in a band known for its evolving lineup, Mina continues to steer FATE GEAR toward new horizons—battling enemies, hunting treasure, and winning over the hearts of metal fans worldwide.
