Joshua Sneed is a Nashville-based guitarist with a background as varied as the music he plays. Born in Ceiba, Puerto Rico, on a U.S. naval base where his mother was stationed, Sneed’s early life was defined by movement—geographically and musically. After relocating to Mobile, Alabama, following his mother’s completion of her service in the Navy, he eventually found his way to Atlanta, where he cut his teeth in the trenches of the city’s fierce and fast-moving music scene. Today, he calls Nashville home, a fitting backdrop for someone as versatile and ambitious as he is.  Sneed’s musical journey began with a tuba, baritone, and trombone before a fateful introduction to Guitar Hero at age 13 led him down a different path entirely. The guitar quickly became more than an instrument—it became a language. One that’s since helped him connect with major artists like Madison Ryann Ward, Struggle Jennings, Blanco Brown, Skooly, Sonny Digital, and more.

His ability to blend genres—rock, metal, gospel, funk, fusion, R&B, and beyond—has made him a go-to collaborator, both on stage and in the studio. He’s performed across nearly every major city in the U.S., Canada, and Japan. In 2024 alone, he toured arenas with Struggle Jennings supporting Brantley Gilbert, rocked the stage at the Montreal Jazz Fest with Madison Ryann Ward to a sea of 10,000 fans, and even traveled to Okinawa to perform for U.S. troops overseas. But one of the standout moments? A Tiny Desk Concert appearance alongside 2 Chainz—an unforgettable full-circle moment with one of his favorite artists.  While Sneed has long made a name for himself supporting other artists, he’s recently shifted his focus inward. “I’ve been taking my time,” he says of writing his solo material. “I never want to release music that doesn’t honestly reflect what I felt at the time I wrote it.” With a debut release in the works and a major tour on the horizon for late 2025, he’s ready to step into the spotlight on his own terms.

After immersing himself in a variety of different channels of education, Joshua’s musical influences began to span continents and decades. From Rick Beato and Guthrie Govan to Lari Basilio, Angus Young, Min Kang, Mateus Asato, and Michael Jackson—he pulls from a deep well of inspiration. This resulted in a guitar style that’s fluid yet aggressive, refined but never predictable. “I used to try to be a chameleon because that’s what the job demanded,” he says. “But over time, I found my voice. My sound is bold, dynamic, and keeps you on edge until the release.”

Looking ahead, Sneed and his wife—a fellow musician—have their sights set on Japan, where they plan to expand their creative footprint and build something fresh in a country that already feels like a second home.
