My journey with Vola began at the end of 2023 when I first learned about the brand in a review of the Guitar Summit 2023 held in Germany.
I was keen to learn more about the company and guitar models and spent some good time researching.
As I also was in the market to buy a new guitar I narrowed down my wishlist to the Ares and Luna models. As the desired Ares (poplar) was not in stock, I finally pulled the trigger on this beauty.
What can I say - everything is like expected. Upfront questions were answered in no time by the wonderful support team. Delivery to Germany took only a couple of days and I could welcome a perfectly packaged and secured instrument.
The overall built quality is excellent. If you expect an Ibanez Wizzard neck - this is not the guitar for you. Necks are very subjective but I really like the one on my Ares. It feels like a blend of my Music Man JP and some older MiJ Jackson superstrats I own. It´s very comfortable to play and with the ergonomics, the higher freets are easy to reach.
As mentioned and expected based on a lot of reviews the guitar quality is excellent. I could not find any flaws (and I am very picky).
What I would love to see for the Ares:
- other pickup options to choose from
- more "exclusive" neckwoods (e.g. flammed maple neck, birdseye maple, etc.)
- locking tuners - yeah...it has a looking bridge, but it makes string change even more comfortable
Other than that, you will get a perfectly crafted and balanced instrument. :-)
