Quentin Godet has become a force to be reckoned with in the modern music sphere. Best known for his work in metal groups Kadinja and Ten56, he needed an extended range instrument that could capture explosive emotion... enter the OZ 7 QGM J1. He's teamed up with Vola to create a timeless guitar with unparalleled tone. Complete with 24 stainless steel frets, a roasted maple neck with a Vola Modern C neck profile, and a well balanced alder body. The HSS setup gives a classic configuration with some additional features, including a mini switch to toggle between series / parallel / coil tap on the humbucker, as well as a neck pickup switch for additional tonal options. Now available in Black Gloss and Vintage White finishes.

Gotoh Tremolo Bridge
The 510T series of tremolo bridges are Gotoh's pursuit of greater tremolo functionality. Providing unmatched stability for this extended range configuration. Adjustments for intonation are accessible and effortless.
Alder Body & Roasted Maple Neck
The combination of an alder body and bolt-on roasted maple neck / fretboard create a perfectly balanced instrument. The contoured heel and double cutaway body shape allow for comfortability and convenience.
Stainless Steel Frets
Equipped with 24 stainless steel medium jumbo frets and a 25.5" scale length, the two pair together for ultimate playability. The durable stainless steel provides longer fret life, better vibrato, smoother bends, and more responsive to attack.
Gotoh Locking Tuners
Gotoh® SG381-05 MG-T locking tuners with thumbwheel locking mechanism for optimal tuning consistency and ease. The reverse headstock layout allows for easy access, making string changes quick and efficient.
Control Your Tone
A unique blend of tonal possibilities at your disposal with Vola FireIce Single Coils in the neck and middle positions, and a corresponding FireIce humbucker (with mini-switch toggling series/parallel/coil tap). The addition of a neck pick up button opens up even more options.
Modern C Neck Profile
A subtle yet versatile innovation, the Vola Modern C Neck -or MC, for short- offers an adaptive profile that fits many playing styles, especially in the 7 string context. With a first fret depth of 20mm at the 1st fret – 21mm at the 12th fret, and a smooth satin finish to seal the deal.
Really versitile instrument, qc is on point, plays great!
The guitar was delivered set up pretty well except for the bridge wasn't level. The back of the bridge was hitting the body allowing the springs underneath to vibrate. Other than that, slight adjustment and good to go! The guitar plays so smooth and dimensions are perfect, which makes the transition from a 6 string extremely easy. Loving it!
One of the best-built instruments I own. The fretwork, the neck consistency across all seven strings, the overall precision. It's flagship-tier at a price that undercuts the brands it competes with. Absolutely spectacular guitar.
Astonishing Guitar!
Excellent guitar
The instrument feels very solid, for the most part, especially the neck. The wiring schematic is very unique but the tonal difference in the single coils isn’t that large. Additionally, the humbucker pickup wasn’t secured very well, so it just tilts back and forth as you play. Lastly, there’s some glue or other brown substance that smeared onto the side of the nut, which is just cosmetic but also, not that clean looking.
The main issue with the guitar is that the pickups were a little bit too low output and not varied enough in their tone. I was able to drop in some Seymour Duncan staggered single coils (for 7 string) and a humbucker from Bare Knuckle (VHII for 7 string) which really help a lot, especially the single coils.
Overall, this might be my favorite guitar and I got it for a great price but the electronics would benefit from slightly higher output single coils and/or some kind of active midrange boost, all the same tricks Strat players use on 6-string models.
This guitar is incredible!
After a few days of meticulously setting it up to my liking, I began enjoying it more and more. I found myself playing for several hours each day and discovered it truly embodies beautiful craftsmanship and feel. Beyond its impressive specs, there’s something truly special about it. It’s an amazing guitar that inspires me to create music. Well done, Vola.
I'll be honest, never played anything better
I have 3 Vola guitars now and they have been my go to when i play. I really Love these guitars, the setup is very good and they are nice looking excellent guitars!

Its a great guitar, versatile, inspiring, it came almost perfectly set up out of the box, and its super comfortable if you are new to 7 string guitars.

Awesome top quality instrument! Just right geometry, perfect setup from factory, easy to play, with no resistance between me and the guitar. Neck geometry, correct fretboard radius, frets,neck pocket - perfect job! Nice interesting and comfy body shape, and overall a compact perfect size for the 7 strings guitar! Pickups awesome voicing too! I need more instruments like this! Thank you Vola Guitars for making top quality instruments! Finally I found just the right guitar for me!!! Best regards
