Introducing ZVA 5 String Bass

Introducing ZVA 5 String Bass

The tried-and-true ZVA bass is back, this time with additional range!

The all-new 5-string version maintains its most prominent features while providing players with an expanded scope of tonal potential. There are also two distinct sets of attributes to choose from. The Ocean Turquoise metallic version comes with a hard maple neck and maple fingerboard. Its counterpart is finished with a Sunburst Gloss paint job, however, it comes stock with a hard maple neck and rosewood fingerboard instead. This offers bassists a variety of choices to dial in their perfect level of comfortability on their instrument.

There are some components and features that are consistent across both builds. This includes its bolt-on neck, which is equipped with 21 frets, a 34.5” scale, and a Duracon nut for optimal performance. One highly functional element is the installation of a zero fret system at the top of the neck.  Providing unmatched intonation, the zero fret design allows for precision set up and consistency. Intended for optimal string height and tuning stability, this system offers intentional reliability for the players experience. Its modern C-shaped neck allows for easy access to the entire fretboard while maintaining perfect comfort. Both bodies are also comprised of alder, offering a balanced playing experience from each and every position. From a hardware standpoint, the nickel components were manufactured by Gotoh, including the machine heads and a string-through bridge setup.

The bass is equipped with Vola JS5-N neck and Vola JS5-B bridge pickups, coupled with a Vola ATR-I Active 3-band EQ and a handy mini switch for seamless transition between passive and active modes.  These pickups combine a fantastic range of clarity and punch, with a balance of low-frequency foundation and solid mid and high range.  Paired with ease of playability, consistency, and comforting balance, this instrument carries itself with confidence.  Overall, the ZVA 5-string carries on its predecessor’s legacy with extended range and accessibility for every type of bassist.
