Pierre Danel

Pierre Danel has spent the past decade establishing himself as one of France’s most inventive and hard-working guitarists. A founding member of Kadinja and now a full-time guitarist with Novelists, Pierre’s playing brings together the precision of modern progressive metal with the instinct and energy of a lifelong musician. He graduated from the American School of Music in Paris, where he studied composition, arrangement, and sound engineering — training that’s shaped his approach both in the studio and on stage. Alongside his work in heavy music, he’s carved out a reputation as a versatile session player, collaborating with major artists like Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, Diana Ross, and Geri Halliwell.
Pierre’s relationship with Vola Guitars runs deeper than just gear. After years of chasing tones that could keep up with his playing style, he worked closely with Vola to design instruments that feel like an extension of his hands. His Vola signature models were shaped by countless hours on tour, in the studio, and in writing sessions — the result is guitars that balance power and clarity without ever getting in the way of musical ideas. To Pierre, a good guitar is one you stop thinking about the moment you start playing, and that’s exactly what he found with Vola.
Beyond his work in progressive metal, Pierre is also a respected figure in jazz and world music circles, staying active both live and in the studio. He’s also in charge of the Djent/Metal, Jazz, and RnB sections of Guitar Xtreme magazine, where he shares his knowledge and insight with the next generation of players. The future is bright for Pierre, and we look forward to supporting his ongoing endeavors.
