THE VOLA 2025 SOLO COMPETITION

We’ve been absolutely blown away by this year’s entries. The level of musicianship, style, and soul you all brought to the table was next-level. From tried and true bluesy phrasing to prog-fusion shred moments, the creativity on display came in all forms, and from all corners of the world!

Narrowing it down wasn’t easy. Every solo had something to offer, but after hours of listening and re-listening, our panel selected five standout finalists. Each one showed a distinct voice, a strong sense of composition, and the perfect blend of emotional depth and technicality.

We’d also like to thank our amazing partners who helped bring this competition to life. Kerry’s Kamp offered two free months of educational material and lessons to all participants, giving players a chance to keep building their skills. Neural DSP provided a Nano Cortex for our first-place winner, and Bareknuckle Pickups contributed a custom pickup set to round out the top prize. And of course, massive thanks to Colton Martin for composing the killer backing track that tied everything together!
