Silver Medalist Speaks His Musical Mind
Alessandro Zilio recently rose through the ranks to solidify a silver medal win in the Vola 2024 Solo Competition.
The rising talent from Turin, Italy, was a standout entry among a wealth of other talented musicians. Alessandro's emotive style, combined with pinpoint note accuracy and technical mastery, immediately caught the attention of the judges. The addition of a crisp and well-shot visual further enhanced the allure, resulting in an impressive production. His top-tier performance also came with a well-deserved prize package consisting of a new REVV guitar pedal, an assortment of Vola goodies, and, most importantly, a brand-new guitar. The Olympic White JZ FRO that Zilio received as his prize is not just a symbol of his achievement but also an instrument that will hopefully align perfectly with his artistic vision.
The guitar arrived in Italy earlier this week, and Zilio wasted no time putting it through its paces. He posted a stunning demonstration that showcased a series of gorgeous leads, underpinned by a strong foundation of rhythms, all tracked on the JZ FRO. His elegant mix of economy picking, tapping, and alternate picking strengthened our appreciation for his deep catalog of techniques. He also added in some close-up footage of the guitar, highlighting the VFP90 and single-coil pickups, the flamed roasted maple neck, and the gorgeous reverse headstock. All of this served to complement the musical expression that ensued.
