For the seventh year, Vola Guitar felt the magnetic draw of music merchants from around the world to gather in Anaheim, California for another chance to show off their latest innovations.

It’s no secret that the show has taken a different form in recent years, but it still has that same familiar allure and provides the opportunity for musical savants to reunite, spark conversation on the newest gear, and show off their chops. As you weaved through the aisles of endless technological and artistic advancements, each step brought you closer to justifying your next gear acquisition.

This year, the Vola Team set up shop in Hall D, Booth #4833. Surrounded by neighbors from across the globe, we brought the very best of our product line for curious by-passers to test out through multiple amps and modelers. Some noteworthy appearances include all four of the brand new OZ 7T seven string models, a good handful of Vola signature models from artists near and far, and some USA Custom Shop guitars that were handmade right down the road. As the crowd found their way through the booth, each person seemed to gravitate towards their personal preference and style. Needless to say, it was inspiring to hear the sheer talent of musicians, both young and old. Between attendees trying out their different options, we also had a select few of our Vola artists performing their original music and displaying the scope of dynamic range for their preferred guitars.

Some of the most eye-catching guitars that showed up this year were the Michael Keene Signature models. Dubbed “The Keene Machine”, three different iterations of the metal veteran’s carefully crafted custom shop models hung on display, including a striking new orange finish that features higher scalloped frets, rechargeable active pickups, and a Floyd Rose Tremolo system. Also making an appearance was the new prototype of the OZ 22 MRM J1. This is the new signature model of Maycown Reichambach, one of our highly talented Vola artists and team member from Argentina. It made its debut in both left-handed and right handed configurations and stole the attention of attendees with its Black Malbec finish. The MRM’s unique pickup set proves to be the perfect compliment to Maycown’s style, boasting a Vola humbucker and P-90 duo.

Many of the tried and true Vola models also made their return, including the OZ 7 QGM J1 and Vasti 7 PDM J1, the powerful seven string signatures of Quentin Godet and Pierre Danel, who are continuing to make waves in their musical endeavors overseas. The classic looking OZ 22 JRM J1, in its dueling Shell Pink and Vintage White finishes, also found its way into the hands of many eager to test it out. The stunning OZ TNC super-strats also appeared with their endless versatility, tonal spectrum, and gorgeous flamed maple tops. Several other USA Custom Shop models adorned the wall, like the 8 string fanned fret Leo Natale model, Gregory James’ Vasti 7 Bevel, and Vola veterans’ Adam Phillips signature Blaze.

As each day’s show came to a close, the team did its fair share of refueling, hitting many restaurants along the way, meeting up with dealers to enjoy some fellowship and well deserved down time, and networking with friends, both new and old. Many of our crew had to make an intercontinental journey to be here, and it was revitalizing and inspiring to be together, share thoughts and ideas of future growth, and enjoy the electric buzz that each new year at the show brings. As we continue to grow and expand, we are thankful for each and every person that chooses to support us and play our instruments. We have more great models in the works, more collaborations with fantastic musicians and players, and more drive to continue our mission of providing top tier instruments than ever before.
