Hello and welcome to our first Vola artist interview! Today I had the pleasure of interviewing our very own Maycown C. Reichembach. This very talented guitar player resides in Argentina and has been a long standing Vola Guitar artist, let’s get stuck in to the interview.

So Maycown when did you start playing guitar and who influenced you growing up?

I started playing guitar at 11 years old, about 25 years ago totally influenced by Jimi Hendrix, who I am still a fan of. Then came the guitar heroes of the 80s, like Malmsteen, Satriani and Vai, which made me really study guitar…

Do you have a favourite memory that brought you the guitar?

The guitar gave me some of the most beautiful moments of my life. To have written my first symphony for symphony orchestra and electric guitar, where I was also an arranger and soloist.
I would also highlight the tour I did with the Greg Howe/Stu Hamm band. I also had the opportunity to record my solo album with Simon Phillips (Jeff Beck, Toto, Joe Satriani Drummer) and the possibility of having a friendship with Kiko Loureiro (Megadeth guitarist), whom I consider one of the best guitarists in the world. We met many years ago in Brazil, he has been a very important inspiration for a whole generation of South American guitarists, who dream of taking the guitar to all parts of the world.

Thats amazing man, so talking about your guitars what features in the custom shop model for example would you like to highlight?

I am totally in love with my new Custom Shop model, which has characteristics that I consider unique to be able to perform the music that I like. Roasted maple neck, alder body with solid flamed top, jumbo steel frets and compound radius, as well as having the last scaloped frets. It really is the guitar of my dreams!

I know times are difficult BUT any upcoming shows or events that you are looking forward to?

I have recorded two live concerts in these times that are available (some songs) on my YouTube channel, I am currently preparing a new single, totally different from what I have been doing. You will be amazed!
